The first in a series of three recovery guides for the first three years of sobriety, First-Year Sobriety uses the voices of many women and men who are struggling in the often baffling territory of their first year of sobriety to show that despite their differing experiences, all are united in the process of giving life without alcohol or other drugs a chance.These are people who are alternately amazed, appalled, delighted, depressed, illuminated, disturbed, or simply thrown by their first days, weeks, and months of sobriety. Kettelhack explores the challenges all seem to face: learning to break through loneliness, isolation, and fear; finding ways to deal with anger, depression, and resentment; and learning how to deal with a new and sometimes overwhelming happiness.
Guy Kettelhack has written seven books on recovery. He is completing a Master's degree in psychoanalysis, and is an analyst-in-training at the Boston and New York Centers for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies. A graduate of Middlebury College, Kettelhack has also done graduate work in English literature at Bread Loaf School of English at Oxford University. He lives in New York City.

Reality is proud to present WWIII's WHEN GOD TURNED AWAY. WWIII..... Metal heads all over the world know Mandy Lion's story by now. His mad max look, strong opinions, songwriting talent and powerful vocals set him on his way at the tender age of 12. By 14, he was already fronting popular bands in his native Germany, but finding bandmates who shared his viewpoint and his dedication proved frustrating, so Mandy started his own line-up. The result was a band that shocked the public with its raw intensity and blatant sexuality. Still not finding the niche he was trying to carve out for himself, Mandy knew he had to go to Los Angeles. But it was 1988, and Los Angeles was bursting with the more bubble gum, glam sounds of the LA hair band scene. Once more Mandy found himself an outcast, but in spite of the oddsbeing against him and his unique style, within months he was headlining venues wherever he played, signed to management icon Don Arden (Black Sabbath, ELO, Queen) and being signed to a deal on Hollywood Records. The band's first line-up reads like a who's who of metal talent - Jimmy Bain (Dio), Vinnie Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath) and James Kottack (Kingdom Come, Scorpions). Touring with legendary bands like Iron Maiden and Motorhead made their debut LP, WWIII a legendary metal record. Although the early 90's seemed to put metal on the back burner, Mandy himself was sought after to be part of projects with luminaries like George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob) and Jake E. Lee (Ozzy,Badlands). Over the past decade, Mandy has been often imitated, but never duplicated by such successful trendsetters as Rob Zombie, and Marilyn Manson. But there is only one Mandy Lion, and the originator of pure primal vocals has been biding his time before returning to the forefront with his new album, "When God Turned Away " on Mandy's new label, Reality Entertainment. Produced by guitarist Joe Floyd and Warren Croyle (Halford, Dickinson, Godhead, Gwar, House of Lords) , When God Turned Away is old school metal with a modern day vibe that should appeal to young and older metal fans alike. The album is filled with great songs and great riffs. The haunting melodies are delivered with Mandy's usual power vocals, leaving no doubt that on CD and live, Mandy Lion is very much a metal force to be reckoned with. With Floyd on guitar, Geezer Montez on bass, and Sledge on drums, Mandy has put together an impressive version of WWIII ready to tour this year as he bring his music to the masses once again.
